3 trips you should make this fall

Herfst. De bladeren worden langzamerhand oranje en bruin en je hebt al je dikke truien weer tevoorschijn gehaald. Het seizoen van de Pumpkin Spiced Latte in Starbucks, de warme chocomel met slagroom en het overhoop halen van je schoenenkast zoekend naar die Uggs van de afgelopen winter. We kunnen er helaas niet omheen, de temperaturen zijn begonnen te dalen richting die nul graden of we het nou willen of niet. Want eigenlijk heb je nog helemaal niet genoeg gehad van de zomer, je hebt net niet genoeg genoten van je vakantie en je bent je werk of school nu alweer zat *blegh*. De perfecte tijd dus voor een weekendje weg. Dit zijn de drie plekken die je zeker uit je herfst-dip zullen halen!
Fall season. The leaves are slowly turning brown and orange and you already pulled out all your cozy sweaters. It's the Pumpkin Spiced Latte season at Starbucks, the hot chocolate and whipped cream season at home, and you're probably searching through your shoe collection wanting to find those warm Uggs you wore last Winter. We can't avoid it any longer, temperature is decreasing heading to the zero degrees celsius, whether we like it or not. You're probably not done with summer, you just feel like you need a little more vacation because work or school is boring you to death. This makes the perfect time to enjoy a little weekend getaway. These are three places which will definitely get you out of your dip!
Parijs
Parijs is natuurlijk altijd een heel goed idee, maar voor Parijs zou herfst weleens de beste tijd van het jaar kunnen zijn. Het hoogseizoen in Parijs is dan namelijk net voorbij, de honderden duizenden toeristen hebben hun spulletjes netjes in gepakt en zijn naar huis en de lokale bevolking is terug. Je ziet Parijs in haar natuurlijkste vorm, en my-o-my wat is ze prachtig. Geen lange rijen bij de bezienswaardigheden, wat je natuurlijk meer tijd geeft om de stad te observeren in haar mooie herfstkleuren. Zo is het echt een aanrader om in de herfst een bezoekje te brengen aan de Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal en haar tuinen (afgebeeld op de foto) en Versailles, die in de herfst mooiere kleuren heeft dan in alle andere seizoenen. Ook, omdat de toeristen voor het grootste gedeelte weg zijn, is er altijd wel plek om lekker te genieten van het uitzicht op een mooi terras.
Als laatste maar zeker niet onbelangrijk: je kan lekker op je gemak shoppen! Geen kuddes toeristen om je heen die het onmogelijk voor je maken om op je gemak een winkel door te lopen. Geen producten die je graag wilde die zijn uitverkocht. En het allerbeste, aangezien hoogseizoen voorbij is zijn de prijzen een stuk lager. Zijn jullie al overtuigd? Ik ben namelijk al aan het boeken. Ook niet onbelangrijk: check even het weerbericht voor je boekt: zou zonde zijn als het het hele weekend regent en jij net je fashionable paraplu en regenlaarsjes thuis hebt gelaten!
Paris
Of course Paris is always a good idea, but Fall season might just be the best time of the year to visit this beautiful city. High season has just passed, and the hundred of tourist packed up their things and already headed home, while the locals are back. This means you can see Paris in her true form, and my-o-my she's gorgeous. You don't have to wait hours in line to see Paris' showcases, which saves you some time to enjoy Paris in all her beautiful Fall-colors.
I recommend everyone to visit the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal and it's gardens, they are so beautiful in the Fall (see picture). It's also the best time to visit Versailles, which is at its prettiest in autumn.
Because most tourists are gone already, you can always catch a great seat at your favorite restaurant or outdoor terraces.
Last but most certainly not least: you can do all your shopping without bumping into tourists at crowded stores. The chances are very slim that the item you are looking for is sold out, and since high season is over, prices will be lower.

Not unimportant: check the weather forecast before you leave for your trip. It would be should a pity if It rains during your stay and you forgot that cute umbrella and fashionable boots at home!
Istanbul
De allermooiste stad die ik heb bezocht is toch zeker wel Istanbul. Bijna overal waar je gaat heb je wel een mooi uitzicht, is het niet de Bosphorus, dan zijn het wel de prachtige moskeeën die je bijna op elk hoekje wel vind. Istanbul is prachtig, en het begin van de herfst is misschien wel het moment om een bezoekje te doen aan deze prachtige wereldstad.
Net zoals Parijs is Istanbul het gehele jaar door een geweldige stad om te bezoeken, de herfst heeft alleen wel haar voordelen. Het is niet zo heet als in de zomer, maar ook niet zo regenachtig en koud als in de winter. De temperaturen beginnen net te dalen, er heerst een lekker nasmaakje van de zomer (temperaturen liggen rond de 22 graden celsius) dus die dikke jas hoeft dan echt niet mee. De perfecte temperatuur om gezellig een wandeling te maken naar de bezienswaardigheden of in de verschillende bazaars.
Ben jij van plan om binnenkort naar Istanbul te gaan? Zoek een hotel vlakbij Eminönu/Sirkeci, vanuit hier kun je met het openbaar vervoer of de taxi heel Istanbul bereiken en een heleboel bezienswaardigheden zijn op loopafstand!
TIP: Doe een boottoer op de Bosphorus, een hele leuke manier om de prachtige uitzichten van Istanbul te zien terwijl je heerlijk geniet van een warm kopje thee.
Istanbul
Istanbul is definitely the most beautiful city I have ever visited. Almost everywhere you turn you have a gorgeous view, if it isn't the Bosphorus, it will be the beautiful mosques you can find on almost every corner. Istanbul is pretty, and the fall may just be the best time to visit her.
Just like Paris, it's always a great idea to visit Istanbul. In my opinion Autumn is just a little bit better than all the other seasons. It won't be as hot as in the summer, so you can stroll all around the city without breaking a sweat. The temperatures will be around 22 degrees celsius, which means you can let your furry coat at home *yaaasss*!

TIP: Take a boat tour on the Bosphorus, it's a great way to see all the beautiful sights the city has to offer while you're sipping your hot tea.
Londen
Iedereen die van shoppen houdt wilt niets liever dan een bezoekje brengen aan de hoofdstad van onze buren in Engeland: Londen! Het thuisland van de geliefde Primark, River Island, Asos en nog veel meer. Als je die winkels hier al geweldig vind, weet je niet wat je te wachten staat in Londen. Daar is natuurlijk de collectie veel uitgebreider dan hier in ons kikkerlandje. Loop jij dalijk in een jurkje van de Primark die hier niet te verkrijgen is, eindelijk zie je niet iedereen lopen in jouw favoriete outfit. Ook voor beauty-producten is Londen een aanrader, een heleboel goede budget merken die hier in Nederland niet (of moeilijk) te verkrijgen zijn kun je daar scoren voor een prikkie.
De reden waarom je nu het beste aan Londen kan denken is omdat de herfst het enige seizoen is dat het geen hoogseizoen is in Londen. Lekker goedkoop richting the Big Ben dus! Stuur je me een foto van jou in zo'n rode telefooncel?
London
Everybody who loves shopping is dying to go to London. It's the hometown of our beloved Primark, River Island, Asos and many more fashion stores. If you think the collection at your local Primark or River Island is great, you are in for a ride pumpkin! There are so many more products in the stores in England, you will be amazed by all the things you can't get in your hometown. Finally you can stroll around the town in an outfit you know not everybody has.
London is also a good idea for our make-up addicts. England has a lot of drugstore brands that aren't as easy to get your hands on outside of England.
The reason why autumn is the best time to be thinking about going to London is because it's the only season which isn't high-season over there. Chances are you will be able to book a flight and a hotel for a very good price. Visiting the Big Ben on a budget it is! Will you send me a picture of you in one of those red telephone booths?
